Wine and honey.

They had determined that they wanted to become drunk as quickly as they possibly could, so they up-ended their glasses and begged for more, more of the viscous honey-wine that addled the senses and loosened the tongue. Their hands wandered gracelessly over the barmaid's cotton skirts, but their money was good and the evening was young, so she tolerated their cheap talk and wastrel ways. It was plain to see they were students by the shining patches on their coatsleeves, the ink-stains on their fingers, and the library must they carried with them, companions to the end. They were desperate to escape the ruinous college campus and really live for a moment or two, here in the wineland, the country, here in the remnants of a town borne from grapes and bees and sun.
