less a word, less a world, under it all, I think I'm finding
something I understood once and forgot and knew again
I was looking forward to reading in quiet and shush and hush
and I find the sky more comforting when it's gone blue and pink
and white isn't a color I wear, but I look at it when I'm alone
and things are never what they seem to be but I think my bathwater
smells like you might like it and I knew once how to mean a word
in one way I think you've forgotten how to listen and yet I know
these things and want to talk to you the way I talk to myself.
