Changing whims, changing tides.
6/14/05 10:16 pmHow long can one run on a single theory? It's a good question. I've been doing this for two and a half years, more or less regularly. I've seen people live their lives the same way for over twenty, never thinking to change their patterns, never thinking to change their god-fearing or godless ways. Change is good, change brings new ideas, new spans of information, new time and space and astral quantum physics. So I'm going to change things around. Only a little, it's true, and I hope it won't bother the few of you who read this too terribly much, but I'm going to change to Thursdays, at least for a while. I may return to bother Tuesdays with my random meanderings on our next birthday, but at least until November, I will accept my place as Thursday's Child, and revel that I have far to go.
For those who are curious, yes, this means there will be two days of posting this week. Neat, huh?

down at the market, there near the water
talking to the homeless men who beg
watching the rain drift in, threatening
guessing at the time by shadows on sidewalk
here in the market, the frontispiece of the city
watching the tourists idle past me
taking their money as they take my time
flirting idly, counting it a fair bargain
at work in the market, concrete worn ragged
by countless meandering feet
slowly forgetting that work can feel stifling
that my skin was not always brown
