Dropping the ball.
10/5/04 01:33 pmSeptember, it seems, was something of a waste. For the first time in my now nearly two years of doing this, I missed posting. Twice.
I'm still feeling remarkably unpoetic, but that's just something that happens. Moving on.
It occurred to me that right now I think I know more people with some type of green eyes than I do blue. This seems odd to me, and probably statistically improbable, but I'm pretty sure it's true, unless I'm misremembering someone or other. Brown-eyes still seem to be the most dominant, unremarkably, but those green-eyed weebles, yes, they do seem to be growing in number.*
So, a hacked-out poem about a blue-eyed person who doesn't exist.
here we come
such a sad smile, and such beau
tiful eyes, we acclaimed her wate
ry we claimed her divine, but did we
acknowledge her life? We allowed her
no reality, expected that she would
give us everything of her with no
expectation of payment, no relief from
weary night after night putting on sp
arkling eyeshadow to heighten the sad sh
yness she held behind her eyes, ultramarine.
such a sad smile, and such beautiful eyes.
*this is not a problem for me, because I am most fond of green eyes, but I think it's interesting.
