Once upon a time
there was a little mouse
who had a little house
and ran on milk and cheese
her life was quite happy
unselfish and good
and she gave
to many fine charities
one night in a huff
she ran to the bluff
to throw herself
over the edge
but along came a lad
with quite a long tail
who gave her the
following pledge:
"mousie, oh, mousie,"
"madam, my dear..."
"please take me
into consideration
before taking the leap
and buying the farm
it's quite the life-alteration!"
The mousie just cried
"I'd rather have died!"
"You rotten young cad!"
she kicked in his knees
and pelted him with bleu cheese
while he proclaimed
her to be mad
let this be a lesson
to those who would try
to dissuade those who would fly
from this world on a whim
though their future seems grim
and hope may be slim
they may carry cheese on the sly
