Autumn People.
11/25/25 09:54 amIt means more to those of us who played Changeling, of course, and something rather different to modern people who may not know Bradbury or think of autumn as a color scheme or hobbyist fantasy.
There are still people who understand the death of seasons, who relish mud and damp and cloudy days with no end in sight. Though often enough October is clear or stormy, less sodden and more prickling.
Thorns exposed, leaves still changing.
It was still pretty warm into October, as I recall, but my sense of temperature is … unreliable these days. That’s the nice way to put it.
I barely need a coat in December, when once I needed cozy wooly furry heavy and gloves and leg warmers and everything else. Now, just a hoodie will do, and even that is too much sometimes. A sweater and a scarf.

I want that scarf, embarrassingly so, but I’d probably never wear it, so it’s best I don’t.
