(Passed the howling woman and)

No, let’s not do this again. I keep coming back to The Walk for no particular reason. It’s not even one of my favorite songs, but the lyrics do get stuck in my head on the regular. I can’t remember the last time I even heard it, but I was in high school the first.

I probably heard it on The End, probably on a Sunday morning, but I really associate it with that slightly stolid house full of books. A lot of early Cure goes there, a lot of pagan rock music, a lot of Marvel comics. It was green and metal and felt old, despite the youth of the person I associated with there.

I feel like that time was full of moss and streams and rocks and secondhand stores. Lace, tattered (it wasn’t, actually, when I first bought it for $50, which was rather a lot of money then) and silk, torn. Huge pants, huge shirts, strange outfits that didn’t even make sense to me at the time.

I did, though, stand outside that door many times. (It’s almost Halloween)
