My cat — at this point, nearly twelve.

It’s odd to think of Nona as being a senior cat. She’s still bouncy and bright-eyed and her fur is smooth and glossy. She’s been very healthy so far, but she was born in May of 2012 and it’s 2024, which makes this her twelfth birthday. I’d love to see her make it to twenty, but I can’t think about it too often because it makes me remember the other cats. Penny, who got me to twenty-two, Blackberry who covered the rest of my twenties. Zilla who carried me to 38 and was the only one to overlap.

I still miss them, but I love my little witchcat and she’s the one I’ve probably spent the actual greatest amount of time with, if I count hours? It’s a little odd to think of that, but I’m pretty sure it’s true.
