alasanonThere's no purpose to being a Cassandra anymore. Everyone is anxious to believe the worst and beginning to be too tired to hope. Prophecy and mystery are being buried under the rubble of knowledge being easy to come by and difficult to synthesize.
We are all experts at everything all the time, because the information is always present. Even the weirdings are being turned into commodities, witchcrafters and wisewomen now selling their wares on insta.
As the world has grown larger, as we have woken all the strange things from their seabed homes and poured ourselves into every corner of every forest, the world has grown smaller because we think we know.
But people still want their mysteries. They take the form of conspiracies, of cults, believing that people are all-knowing instead of the gods they can no longer believe in.
Isn't a caterpillar enough proof of God?
