Bring me the head of Jack
10/5/21 11:30 pmThe pumpkin king.
My recent realization:
For the first time in almost two decades, I have a front porch. I can put a pumpkin on it. I can light a candle in it so it flickers and glows. I can invite children to take candy in an ancient ritual that may have become bowdlerized over the years, but still retains just enough fear to count.
There's something glorious in that, even though it still feels just enough like summer that Halloween feels far away.
