Voting.

Every four years I write a little something about November elections. This was not a presidential year, more’s the pity, just local. Things more or less went how I hoped they would around here, we’re mostly fairly stable, honestly, despite the ridiculous things that politicians say about our leftist tendencies.

But it’s crushing, you know? Having things go so badly on a national scale, and watching, helpless, as rights are stripped and evil enacted everywhere. It doesn’t matter if I live in a pocket of relative comfort when there are so many who do not and cannot, and if I look outside my house for even a moment, it becomes obvious that any sense of safety is precarious and fragile at best, for everyone, because of what we have put in charge of this, our untidy states of America.

Saying, “I didn’t vote for this” is no comfort at all, and all the magical or conspiratorial thinking in the world cannot solve this for zero.
