This Tuesday...
11/2/04 02:18 pmI'm just sitting around at home right now, waiting to feel up to going out into the miscellaneous rain, and I happened to glance up and see that there are deciduous leaves scattered throughout the pine tree outside my window. They seem like a funny sort of decoration, a November tree, to go along with the Halloween trees and Christmas trees. I suppose we're really going into the holiday season proper; feels strange, too soon to be quite right.
Soon I'm going to go vote. Probably stand in line for a while, little white paper card clutched firmly in white hands, waiting for my chance to fill in the little bubbles. It's true, I'm not really worried about Washington, at least regarding the presidential race, but I have to do it. I have to feel like my tiny peeping voice will be heard by the vast churning machine.
We won't know for anywhere from several hours to a few months exactly what the results will be, but I have hope, both for this state and for the rest of the country.
